Pilot methodology — test, pilot, scale.

Every ADK MnX1 engagement follows the same three-phase arc: a benchtop test of your fuel, an instrumented on-site pilot at a single unit, then a commercial supply agreement that follows demonstrated performance — never the reverse.

01 — Test

Benchtop validation on your fuel.

Run ADK MnX1 against a sample of your coal in a lab reactor and confirm the combustion delta with third-party ICP-MS analysis — before any equipment is touched at your plant.

What ADK delivers Benchtop reactor burn on your fuel sample with and without MnX1, plus third-party-verified ICP-MS ash analysis of the combustion delta.
What you contribute A fuel sample (≈1 kg) shipped to our lab and a basic fuel-spec sheet (proximate / ultimate, sulfur, ash) from your operations team.
Timeline Weeks 1–5 from intake: weeks 1–2 site qualification and sample shipment, weeks 3–5 benchtop burn and ICP-MS confirmation.
Data & sample outputs ICP-MS ash analysis report and flue-gas composition report (SO₂, SO₃, NOx, CO, unburned carbon) — both third-party confirmed before any on-site step.
Plant-tier fit All tiers — Tier-3 plants are welcome as a feasibility check. No on-site commitment is implied by completing the benchtop phase.
02 — Pilot

30-day instrumented on-site pilot.

Instrument a single unit at your plant, dose MnX1 for 30 days, and capture pre/post burn-test data against your existing CEMS — so the numbers come from your boiler, not a vendor reactor.

What ADK delivers Instrumentation on one unit, MnX1 supply for the 30-day trial, on-site engineering support, and the final pre/post burn-test report.
What you contribute Site access for our engineers, baseline CEMS data export for the pre-trial window, and fuel-handling coordination for catalyst dosing into the coal feed or boiler inlet.
Timeline Weeks 6–10 from intake: 1 week of mobilization, 30 days of instrumented dosing, then report turnaround. Plants with an active fuel-handling outage can compress the on-site phase.
Data & sample outputs Pre/post burn-test report with CEMS readouts (SO₂, NOx, PM, CO, O₂, stack temperature), dose-response curve, and a third-party-verified before/after summary you keep.
Plant-tier fit Tier-1 and Tier-2 plants (≥250 MW, MATS-affected or approaching MATS year). Tier-3 plants are typically scoped out of the on-site phase.
03 — Scale

Commercial supply on demonstrated performance.

Only after you've reviewed your own burn-test results do we move to a commercial supply agreement — MnX1 dosing tuned to your coal grade and boiler, with quarterly performance reporting baked in.

What ADK delivers Commercial supply agreement with dosing tuned to your coal grade and boiler, ongoing logistics, and quarterly performance reporting against your CEMS data.
What you contribute Standard plant PO process, on-site storage/handling for the catalyst (non-hazardous liquid), and a designated operations contact for the quarterly review.
Timeline Kick-off after burn-test review and contract execution — typically 4–8 weeks post-trial to convert from pilot to first commercial shipment.
Data & sample outputs Executed supply agreement, dosing protocol for your unit, and a recurring quarterly performance report (compliance-relevant emissions deltas, fuel-savings estimate).
Plant-tier fit Tier-1 only — ≥500 MW, MATS-affected, with an active fuel-handling line that can absorb a drop-in liquid catalyst without retrofitting.
